Japan's post-war miracle of an economy, built on credit-on-credit-on-credit, seemed less like a miracle into the 1990s.They still ruled the tech world, dominated innovation in consumer electronics. But the numbers, those beautiful numbers, now they stopped going up. It all stayed flat, stagnated. What happens to a nation accustomed to decades of economic growth over this lost decade, these flaccid years.

What happened to America after the 2008 crash? Seemed those promised jobs were temporary (if not designed to be secondary or tertiary additions to those already working), or created a patchwork of menial service work for the underemployed. What happens to a nation perched on the precarity of almost half its citizens facing eviction?

All these lost decades are built on credit. Subprime mortgages, Japan's liquidity trap, EU austerity loans. It's all gonna get worse....and the cruelty is the point.

But why not enjoy some City Pop inspired beats while you're wallowing with me?
